commercial disaster etc

A new half day
course which concentrates on protecting the subbie’s entitlements by
maintaining a regime of good notices and site records. Explains the main risks
from main contractor’s damages, set off and contra charges, and how to protect
against those risks! Will strengthen the subcontractor’s position when seeking
extension of time, and payment for variations and claims.

covers the formation of a contract,
enquiry, tender, letter of intent, checking of the order, onerous terms and
conditions, an overview of bonds and warranties, some typical “design problems”
including “fitness for purpose”, payment problems, and an introduction to the
Construction Act and the associated problems and benefits

problems, proactive flagging up of delays, keeping good site records and

A practical and “down to earth”
introduction to this increasingly used form of contract, with its complex and
onerous requirements for “early warning” and resolution of all problems – as a
half day overview to Directors and senior managerial staff and/or
as a full day pre-commencement “workshop” for project teams who have to
administer these demanding rules. Includes a summary of the key changes in the
July 2005 edition of NEC3.

Trade and Sub-contractors – “Practical guidance for the “real world” –

concentrates on the pre-contract and contractual aspects, identifying risks,

assumes no previous contractual knowledge and seeks to explain in very simple

of the forms”. Also looks briefly at the key headlines of the Construction Act
and its relevance in getting paid.

Contractual workshop

This “senior
level” course concentrates on securing of entitlements to time and money by reference to DOM/1, including detailed
discussion and interactive exercises for identification, notification,
preparation, reimbursement and
negotiation of “claims” for loss and expense, acceleration quotations, extension of time and variations.

covers the basics of the Act with a very practical emphasis, including
